Hi Kathy,

It’s both. It’s alway both. If you read the essay again you’ll discover the following connector between those two seemingly dichotomous missives, “But we are not done just yet. To expel conflict in the external world, we must first expel it internally.”

There will never be a singular or inherent truth or directive. We will continue to evolve through many iterations — many more barriers and obstacles, i.e. conflict: a condition in which a person experiences a clash of opposing wishes or needs — before storytelling comes to an end. But it will come to an end.

Everything is story. Our human bodies. The ground we walk on. The earth and the sky. All of everything is a story we evolved to perceive. One day that will come to an end. But, first, yes: new stories.
